History
Debut
Frank started Fencing when he was twelve because the sport was introduced at his primary school.
Athens 2004
Frank went to his first Olympic Games in Athens. Frank is deaf and believes it is an advantage when competing because he can concentrate to a greater degree than his opponents cutting out distractions like crowd noise.
Only a small number of deaf athletes have competed at the able bodied Olympics. Others include decathlete Dean Smith in 1992 and track and field athlete Frank Martin in 1984.
