Reasons for
chosen sport:
Patrick took up running at 24 years of age after winning the 1996 Australian University Championships' 100m event whilst running in spikes for the first time.
Other interests: Patrick speaks five languages fluently and is familiar with a number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dialects.
