Training Tips:

The Australian Little Athletics web site contains photographic training tips on technique in the following events, for junior athletes:
- Running: Crouching and standing starts, hurdles, middle distance / cross country, sprinting and the relay
- Jumping: Long jump and high jump
- Throwing: Shot put and discus
The web site also contains the following article on general fitness.

The OZTRACK web site contains information relating to athletics training for senior, high school and junior athletes. Articles under the INFORMATION menu item contain training tips for specific athletics disciplines and specific age groups.

Patrick Johnson became the first Australian to run under 10 seconds for the 100m. His coach Esa Peltola, provides some sprinting training tips on Patrick's personal web site.

The Australian Little Athletics web site contains the following information on healthy eating for junior athletes.

Henning Associates have a FREEWARE program with a database containing the composition of various foods. The program provides the following information for different methods of preparing various foods: calories, carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. The program can be downloaded from the Siesta Software web site.

The Winning Diet web site, written by the Department of Sports Nutrition at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), provides some general advice on the following topics:
- Everyday nutrition: nutritious foods, fluid needs, carbohydrates, etc.
- Top Performance: recovery, loosing body fat, supplements, etc.
- Competition nutrition: pre-event meals, recovery, fluid intake, carbohydrates, etc.
